Molymer Group always anticipating the future

Nippon Molymer started in July 1980 in Osaka as a specialized trading company for plastics. Since then, it has expanded into the manufacturing industry and is now a group holding company with 28 operating companies (17 domestic and 11 overseas) and a technical center under its umbrella.

We at the Molymer Group handle a variety of materials and manufacturing methods, including both thermosetting resins (FRP) and thermoplastic resins, and as a One Stop Solution Provider for plastics, we supply customers in a wide range of fields with products such as plumbing and housing equipment components, railway vehicle components, civil engineering and construction components, outdoor furniture, polyvinyl chloride wallpaper, automotive parts, electrical and electronic components, plastic bags, garbage bags, tanks, and in-vitro diagnostic sample collection kits.

In recent years, we have been promoting the transformation of our business portfolio, focusing particularly on global expansion and strengthening our business through technological and production innovation. Regarding global expansion, we will establish a large new factory in Thailand in 2023 to vertically integrate all production processes from molding to assembly, and in addition to our traditional automotive parts, we are currently expanding our medical and EMS (electronics manufacturing services) businesses. In the same year, we will establish MOLYMER MOULDING SERVICES LIMITED in the UK, our first production base in Europe, and expand our medical business in Europe. Furthermore, VINA MOLYMER, which serves as the hub base for our FRP business in Vietnam, will begin full-scale operations, and in 2025, we will strengthen our production system at a newly expanded factory as our performance improves.

Meanwhile, in terms of technological innovation, we established the Molymer Technical Center with the role of anticipating the diversification of customer needs and the rapid changes in the social environment, and promoting technological innovation that always supports the growth strategies of our clients. Currently, the Technical Center is working on the technological development of advanced composite materials to meet the growing demand for social infrastructure construction such as tunnels and bridges in line with the National Land Resilience Plan. In addition, in the information and communications field, we are developing new products for Beyond 5G (6G), aiming to create major business opportunities.

In terms of production innovation, in order to provide products and services that exceed customer expectations, we are sharing best practices that we have cultivated over many years among group companies and aiming for unrivaled productivity and quality through the sophistication of manufacturing through "production innovation activities."

A new Molymer in the future

In addition to what we have introduced so far, in order to further accelerate sustainability management with the aim of achieving both economic value and social issues, we will strengthen our efforts in reducing CO2 emissions by participating in "Corporate Forest" activities and in waste regeneration and reuse businesses in addition to our previous activities. We are making efforts every day to provide our customers with products and services that further reduce the environmental impact.

In terms of human resource development, we are introducing a new personnel system from fiscal 2023 to shift to job-based employment, providing treatment according to role and supporting career development to aim for that role. In 2024, we will conduct an engagement survey of all employees in the entire group and strive to create an even more comfortable working environment and a rewarding company, including reforming our organizational culture.

The slogan for our mid-term management plan "FORWARD 2026" was formulated by backcasting from our vision for 2030, "MOLYMER Value up Plan (MVP2030)," with the idea of ​​bringing together the assets and wisdom of the Molymer Group and constantly moving forward with unconventional thinking and strategies.
